Editing

The editing started by editing film day 1 first.
It took a bit of getting used to ImovieHD and finding all the different effects at the start but once we got back into it, it got a lot easier.

We managed to edit all the bits out that we did not want and delete them pretty quickly. It took us a while on figuring out how to change the colours of different things in the clip however I am pleased with what we have done.
We found effects useful such as; Negative, Edges and Old Black and White.

Next came the editing of the dancing. As Mr Bonney was not here, we decided to cut out all the bits we did not want and sort out the ones that we did.
We then needed his help on how to use the 'After Effects' programme on working the green screen.
For some parts of this footage we decided not to use the Green Screen and 'After Effects' because after playing around with different clips, we found that the foot tapping looked really good in the Negative effect.
We also used Mirroring for one dance move that sophia was turning around - this was one of our initial ideas and I am glad we have used it for the final production.

The After Effects programme worked very well. We managed to turn the Green Screen into Black and block Sophias body out into just a pink 'blob!'
At some parts her skin is shown at the top however we cannot do anything but re-film and it is too late to do this now.
We managed to crop out all other bits we did not need and this also caused the problem that sophias hands and legs were often made invisible by the camera and the effect 'letterbox' had to be used when put back into ImovieHD.

Finally Film Day 3's editing process of the Lips:
The lips were the hardest part of the filming to edit.
We used the after effects program and we wanted just the lips to be shown on screen however without painting our face green, this was very hard.
We had to section off just the lips and box them. We then had to soften the outline of the lips so they blend in with the white background a lot easier.
When we did this we came across the problem that the lips were moving out of this 'box' all the way throughout the footage. We then had to alter the box at each point when the lips were off screen.
This took a while but looks a lot better now.
We then put it back into Imovie and added a white balance effect to make just the red lips show exactly how we imagined it.
We then cut the lips so we got the bits that we wanted.

Next we added the music.
We added Satisfaction into the footage so that we could edit it all together in time with the music.
This worked very well and we had to concentrate in order to correct the footage to the EXACT timing to the music.

Film Day 3

Film Day 3: The Lips

This was extremely difficult to work as I do not think we thought it through properly. We should have painted our faces green and done it infront of the green screen so we could just have the lips showing on screen and none of our faces.
This is not a major issue but will be harder for us to edit.
On our first attempt the lighting was not too great so we decided to move to a different but lighter location which worked well.

The red lipstick was a good effect and think it was good to emphasise this to match the theme of the song.
It was hard to actually get the lips on camera keeping it still (because its a heavy camera!)
The footage we got looks really good and im sure it will work out fine when it comes to editing.

Film Day 2

Film Day 2: The Dancing

We filmed the dancing in front of the green screen.
Instead of making up a routine and adding this into our video like we may have stated in early stages, we decided to get footage of Sophia doing random dance moves in front of the camera. These moves were simple enough for our idea to work how we want it too.
Sophia was not wearing the right clothing infront of the green screen so in some parts of the footage her skin may be shown.
I was filming for this part.
I found it difficult to get her in on the camera screen without been too far away and giving her enough space to actually dance. This is something we cannot really help.
The footage of Sophia tapping her foot looks really good when we put it on to the computer and I am very pleased with it.
It did not take very long to film and was an easy part of the filming.
It may have been better if we had the camera stand set up so parts of the shelf the camera was on did not show.
We are also going to have to edit out different objects which stick out onto the green screen but this should not be very difficult.

Film Day 1

Film Day 1: Baking Cakes

We found it really hard to film ourselves getting us both on screen at all times..
In the end we decided that one of us would film and the other would be acting and swap throughout.

We wanted a flour fight in our original story board but as we were situated in school this was not very possible so we will implement something else in place of this.

Location!

We managed to find a perfect location in our school kitchens..!

The mix we used to make the cakes!

Pictures just to show the basic location we used.

Construction

Ideas for Construction Report:

It has been very difficult to find a location which we are able to use as my kitchen can no longer be used.
Due to weather conditions (snow day) it has put our filming off yet again
New ideas for location : School Kitchen

As the deadline getting closer it is essential that we should hurry up and find somewhere to film.
