It took a bit of getting used to ImovieHD and finding all the different effects at the start but once we got back into it, it got a lot easier.
We managed to edit all the bits out that we did not want and delete them pretty quickly. It took us a while on figuring out how to change the colours of different things in the clip however I am pleased with what we have done.
We found effects useful such as; Negative, Edges and Old Black and White.
Next came the editing of the dancing. As Mr Bonney was not here, we decided to cut out all the bits we did not want and sort out the ones that we did.
We then needed his help on how to use the 'After Effects' programme on working the green screen.
For some parts of this footage we decided not to use the Green Screen and 'After Effects' because after playing around with different clips, we found that the foot tapping looked really good in the Negative effect.
We also used Mirroring for one dance move that sophia was turning around - this was one of our initial ideas and I am glad we have used it for the final production.
The After Effects programme worked very well. We managed to turn the Green Screen into Black and block Sophias body out into just a pink 'blob!'
At some parts her skin is shown at the top however we cannot do anything but re-film and it is too late to do this now.
We managed to crop out all other bits we did not need and this also caused the problem that sophias hands and legs were often made invisible by the camera and the effect 'letterbox' had to be used when put back into ImovieHD.
Finally Film Day 3's editing process of the Lips:
The lips were the hardest part of the filming to edit.
We used the after effects program and we wanted just the lips to be shown on screen however without painting our face green, this was very hard.
We had to section off just the lips and box them. We then had to soften the outline of the lips so they blend in with the white background a lot easier.
When we did this we came across the problem that the lips were moving out of this 'box' all the way throughout the footage. We then had to alter the box at each point when the lips were off screen.
This took a while but looks a lot better now.
We then put it back into Imovie and added a white balance effect to make just the red lips show exactly how we imagined it.
We then cut the lips so we got the bits that we wanted.
Next we added the music.
We added Satisfaction into the footage so that we could edit it all together in time with the music.
This worked very well and we had to concentrate in order to correct the footage to the EXACT timing to the music.
